The next edition of Ibiza Marathon will be held on Saturday the 6th of April 2019. The Royal Spanish Athletics Federation has informed the race organizers f the availability of the first weekend of April in the national race calendar. Therefore, the countdown for the third edition of the #RunAndFeel experience has begun.

On Saturday the 7th of April 2018, Ibiza Marathon became the largest public event in the island with a total of 2,083 registered runners. The Kenyan athlete Philip Tirop Lagat finished the race in 02:15:58 winning and breaking the course record, set by Stephen Kiplimo in 2017 (2:19:01), by three minutes.

This year again, the Ibiza Marathon has been very well received by international runners, who have found in Ibiza an ideal location to do sports. In fact, international participation represented over 66% in the second edition of Ibiza Marathon and runners came from 29 different countries.

The Ibiza Marathon has a 42,195 metre circuit that meets the requirements established by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation. The circuit goes across the most popular spots of the magical island and the services available for runners are similar to those in large international marathons: refreshment stations every 5 km with water, energy drinks and gels, Reflex anti-inflammatory sprays and Vaseline, among others. As well as a stunning finish area to reward the effort of marathoners.

In addition, thanks to the parallel race, the Ibiza 12K, this event is open to everyone, that is not only marathoners but also their companions and local runners. It is a more accessible race and a quite unique one: it has the same circuit as the Ibiza Marathon and also finishes in Santa Eulària beach, runners receive a runner’s bag and a technical t-shirt, as well as a finisher medal, among other features that participants will certainly appreciate.

Not that the date for the next edition has been confirmed, the race organizers will open soon registrations and promoting the event in fairs such as the one of London Marathon. On the 6th of April, the island will become again the ideal destination for sports tourism and to enjoy the #RunAndFeel experience.
