The Ibiza Marathon changes its start time in 2018: this 42,195 metres race will begin at 4.00 pm, an hour later than its first edition celebrated last year. Talentum Group, the marketing consulting firm specialised in sports that organizes it, has taken this decision together with the Traffic Task Force of Ibiza and the island authorities. They all hope that this new start time will boost the largest event in Ibiza and, besides, will make the running experience even better. This change also responds to the suggestions of runners who participated in 2017.

Regarding Ibiza 12K, the race that complements the marathon will start 105 minutes later. Therefore, its 2018 edition will be at 5.45 pm on Saturday the 7th of April. Thus, short-distance runners will also benefit from a more appropriate time since weather conditions will be better and they will have the opportunity to watch the spectacular sunset from the Magical Island too.

The first edition of the Ibiza Marathon and Ibiza 12K proved that the island has a great potential to host sports events as well as to become a referent destination for runners. “Running while watching the sunset in Ibiza is a unique experience. Putting off the event for an hour will boost the Ibiza Marathon. It will turn into one of the most attractive marathons in the running calendar soon”, says Francisco Larrey, founding partner of Talentum Group and race director. He adds: “We have listened to the opinions of the runners who took part in the first edition and we want to keep improving to create a perfect race from the start to the finishing line. We know for sure that Ibiza has all the elements to be an international benchmark”.
