The organization of the Santa Eulalia Ibiza Marathon 2020, scheduled for Saturday April 4, has postponed the celebration of the most important sporting event on the island of Ibiza due to the exceptional situation caused by the coronavirus health crisis. For the organization, care and prevention of the more than 3,000 runners and therefore of society, it is the most important thing. For this reason, it has been decided to postpone the holding of the event until next October. The specific date will be announced as soon as the Real Federación Española de Atletismo assigns the specific day on which to carry out the sports event.
Likewise, with the aim of offering the best option to runners, the organization will offer all those registered who have acquired the bib number for any of the four distances that may participate in the new date in October or in the V edition scheduled for April 2021. In addition, the organization will offer the possibility of changing the ownership of the number acquired.
The Santa Eulalia Ibiza Marathon, made up of the marathon distances, 21K + 21K Relay, 12K and the new 20K has decided to postpone the race establishing the health care of runners, workers and assistants as a top priority, as well as social responsibility because of this exceptional situation marked by the current global health crisis. The organization is pending the official assignment of date during the month of October by the Real Federación Española de Atletismo. The month of the sporting event has been set trying to guarantee the participants the best weather conditions and evaluating the tourist and economic impact that the sporting event generates on the island.
