The organisers of the Ibiza Marathon and its three associated races (12K, 42K Relay and 20K) have reached an agreement with APNEEF (Association for People with Special Needs of Ibiza and Formentera) making it the charitable organisation for the fourth edition. Thus, everybody participating in the largest sports event on the island can make a donation of two euros during their registration process, an amount that will be allocated in full to the funding of this not-for-profit organisation.

Specifically, APNEEF attends to children and young people with physical, mental, sensorial and/or cognitive disabilities, helping them to develop their independence and facilitating their integration in society through personalised therapies, guidance and support to families, as well as actions to raise awareness among local people. To this end, the association has a team of 38 professionals working in the social and therapeutic areas, leisure and free time.

Among other services, APNEEF offers speech therapy, paediatric physiotherapy, therapeutic psychomotricity, social skills, pedagogy and psychology, with a view to improving the quality of life of people with special needs who live in Ibiza and Formentera. Aware of the great work performed since its foundation in 1998, the organisers of the Ibiza Marathon have decided to capitalise on their ability to assemble and mobilise large numbers of people to give the association visibility and, in turn, guarantee its viability.
