SANTA EULÀRIA IBIZA MARATHON

Article 1. ORGANISING COMMITTEE

Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon is a race organised by Talentum Group on Saturday April 13th 2024.

Article 2. DATE AND TIME

On Saturday, April 13, 2024, the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon will be held in the evening. The marathon will start at 3:30 p.m. and the finish line will be closed at 9:00 p.m. The maximum time to finish the race will be of 5 hours 30 minutes.

Article 3. DISTANCES

The distance is 42.195 meters and the circuit is approved by the Spanish Athletics Federation (Real Federación Española de Atletismo). The race is included in the National Calendar.

During the route, all kilometers will be signposted.

The Judges of the Spanish Athletics Federation (Real Federación Española de Atletismo) and/or the Federació d’Atletisme de les Illes Balears will be responsible for compliance with sports regulations and these rules.

Article 4. PARTICIPATION

The race is open to athletes of any nationality, federated or not, who are 18 years old on April 13th, 2024, the date on which the marathon will take place.

Each runner participates in this race under their responsibility and has a sufficient level of physical condition to face a test of such characteristics.

Article 5. REGISTRATION

Registration for the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon is personal and non-transferable and can only be done through the official website of the event www.ibizamarathon.com.

Registration implies acceptance of these rules. It is no possible to transfer or sell the bib number to another person, friend or family member due to not being able to attend the day of the race. Failure to comply with this rule may invalidate participation in the test, with the organization having the right to exclude the person responsible for participation in future editions.

5.1 Prices and sections

The registration period begins on May 10th, 2023.

Prior to this date, an EARLY BIRD will be available only to those who have already participated in one of the six previous editions. Access to this promotion will be by personalised one-time-use code valid from May 3rd till the 10th , with the following prices:

– Marathon. 40 €
– 22K. 20 €
– 12 K. 10 €

Once registration is open, the prices are as follows:

The organization reserves the right to modify/extend/reduce/close the established registration period and any aspect will be duly communicated through its corporate channels.

During Friday April 12th and Saturday April 13th, in-person registrations can be made at the incident point of the runner’s fair as long as there are bibs available. These registrations will be subject to the “late” rate. In this case of face-to-face purchase, the numbers will not be personalized, nor is the desired size guaranteed on the participant’s gift shirt.

Registration is personal and non-transferable. Once the registration is made, the race fee will not be refunded for any reason. Each runner participates in the test under his entire responsibility. The runner, in his registration process, accepts under his sole responsibility to be in perfect health, participate and have a sufficient level of physical condition to finish it.

IMPORTANT: The registration price does NOT include the RFEA license of €5, which will be required to be paid in the bib purchase process. Those participants who, because they have an RFEA license, Autonomous by the Federation where the competition is held, or Corridor Plus Card, do not need to process a Day License must select it when registering.

5.2 Registration requirements

All athletes participating in the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon must have the Day License except for those athletes who have an annual RFEA License, an Autonomous License by the Federation where the competition is held and/or a Plus Runner’s Card.

The Day License will be processed, through the Organization of the Test, at the time of registration in it, having a cost included in the price of 5 euros.

Those participants, who do not need to process a Day License due to having an RFEA license, Autonomous by the Federation where the competition is held, or a Runner’s Card Plus, must select it when registering.

5.3 Change of bib number name

The organization offers the possibility of making a name change. It can be requested by contacting info@ibizamarathon.com. The new athlete must comply with the provisions of this regulation, the content of which will be accepted when the name change becomes effective.

The cost for the change of name is €10 for management fees.

From March 1st 2024, there will be no changes of namer.

Article 6. CANCELLATION OF REGISTRATION AND REFUND

The organization will refund the registration fee for physical injury (not because a disease is contracted) accrediting a medical certificate via emial to info@ibizamarathon.com from the same e-mail adress with which the registration was made.

The deadline to request a refund is March 1st, 2024.

Article 7. COLLECTION OF BIBS NUMBERS AND RUNNER’S BAG

The collection of the runner’s bag and the bib number will be at the Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon Runner’s Expo (Friday, April 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. non-stop and Saturday, April 13th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) which will take place at the Palau de Congressos d’Eivissa in Santa Eulària des Riu –location-.

To collect the bib number it will be necessary to present the ID or Passport. In case of picking up the number of another person, it is necessary a copy of the ID of the registered person and signed authorization.

The race day, Saturday April 13th, from 1:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., the organization will set up a last-minute bib number delivery point next to the marathon start in the Port of Ibiza. During this time, it will not be possible to make any type of change (boxes, incident…) nor will the runner’s bag be delivered, which can be requested later in post-finish line.

The organization reserves the right to change the location or time of delivery of bib numbers, which will be communicated to those registered well in advance.

Article 8. TIMING

The timing will be done through the dorsal-chip system that all participants will receive when collecting their runner’s bag. There will be a small device attached to the bib that must not be removed or manipulated at any time.

It is not necessary to return the bib-chip once the race is over.

Article 9. STARTING BOXES

The organization will assign the registered starting boxes based on the information provided by each athlete in their registration and taking into account sporting and safety premises.

There will be ordered starting boxes that will be graphically marked on the bib number. It is forbidden to enter a a box that does not correspond to the one indicated on the bib number. The organization reserves the right to eliminate from the classification all athletes who come out in a different box than the one selected.

Article 10. TIME LIMITS

A maximum time of 5:30 hours is established to complete the marathon distance.

In addition, the organization, with the FAIB judges, will establish a series of cut-off points on the circuit at the following times:

  • KM 10: 4:45 p.m.
  • KM 20: 6:00 p.m.
  • KM 27: 7:00 p.m.
  • KM 30: 7:30 p.m.
  • KM 37: 8:30 p.m.

These times will be strictly respected for the safety and integrity of all athletes. Any runner who exceeds the time established at these points will be disqualified by the race judge and the race bib will be taken away by the judges or the organisers. This runner will be officially out of the race.

Article 11. AID STATIONS

During the marathon circuit, there will be liquid aid stations combined with other liquid + solid ones located approximately every 5 kilometers. In addition, there will be reinforcement points in the last kilometers.

The specific location and the products of each point will be communicated to the athletes days before the race.

Article 12. MEDICAL SERVICES

The Santa Eulària Ibiza Marathon will have a medical and security device. Medical services will be located along the route, as well as in the start and finish area, where the hospital will be located.

The bib number will have printed an emergency telephone number that the runner can call if they feel bad or have a medical emergency.

Article 13. CLASSIFICATIONS, PRIZES AND TROPHIES

The organisation will establish economic prizes for the first three absolute finishers in the men’s and women’s categories. The amounts will be the same for both men and women.

The prizes will be paid 90 days after the celebration of the event with the corresponding tax deductions and once the results of the anti-doping control, if any, are known. In case of a positive result, these athletes will lose all right to prizes and will be eliminated from the classifications.

There will be category rankings, but no trophies.

Only the first three and first three of the general classification will receive trophies.

Article 14. INSURANCE

The organisation will have a civil liability insurance policy in accordance with current legislation. In addition, all participants will be covered by an accident insurance policy. Participation in this event is at the participants’ own risk and responsibility. The participant, at the time of registration, declares to be in perfect health to take part in the race. The organization is not responsible for any damage that may be caused by the participants during the race, themselves or third parties.

In the event of extraordinary weather conditions or force majeure not attributable to the organisation and which make it impossible to hold the race, the organisation will not assume any responsibility and will not refund any of the registration fee.

Article 15. RACE SAFETY

Security on public roads will be the responsibility of the security forces and authorities involved in the smooth running of the race in Ibiza and of the organisers themselves. The medical services will be authorised to remove any participant who is clearly at risk.

Motorised vehicles or bicycles that do not belong to the organisation and that are not duly authorised are strictly forbidden.

Article 16. CHANGES/ALTERATIONS

If required by the relevant authority responsible for the event (Civil Protection, Municipal Police and/or Public Space of the Santa Eulària des Riu Town Council), and for reasons of security or force majeure, it is possible to modify the place of the start/finish and the start and finish times of any of the distances. The organisers reserve the right to make changes provided that sufficient notice is given sufficiently in advance and for justified reasons or in the case of force majeure, considering these to be those in which the relevant authorities make it necessary (in this case no refund of the registration fee will be made).

The organisation reserves the right to make any changes to these regulations if it deems it necessary, and must communicate this on the official website of the race and in the information given to the runner, either by e-mail or physically.

Article 17. ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES

All participants accept each of the articles of these regulations and honestly undertake not to anticipate the start time and to cover the full distance before crossing the finish line. The organisation reserves the right to act and take the appropriate measures in the event of any unsportsmanlike, disrespectful, disloyal or violent behaviour.

Article 18. EUROPEAN UNION SUPPORT

This event is financially supported by the European Union through European funds.

Article 19. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

All participants, by registering, declare that they are aware of and accept these Rules and Regulations and the Disclaimer and Data Protection. In case of doubt, the Organisation’s criteria will prevail.

Disclaimer and Data Protection Statement

By the mere fact of registering, the participant declares the following: “I am in optimum health to participate in the Ibiza 12K. Furthermore, I release the Organization, sponsors or other participating institutions from any liability for any accident or injury that I may suffer before, during and/or after the sporting event, renouncing any legal action against any of these entities. During the development of the competition I will contribute as much as possible with the Organisation, in order to avoid personal accidents”.

However, the organisation recommends runners to undergo a medical examination prior to the race, all participants accepting the risk derived from the sporting activity.

Article 20. ACCEPTANCE OF THE USE OF IMAGES AND DATA

The runner authorises the Organisation to make advertising use of data, photos, videos and/or any other type of audiovisual material in which I may appear, accepting the publication of my name in the classification of the race, in the media and/or Internet, without expecting any payment, compensation or retribution for this concept. Furthermore, this material and information may be used in subsequent editions of the event and may be transferred to any sponsor of the event, which by themselves or through third parties, treat your personal data for exclusively sporting, promotional or commercial purposes, as well as your image within the event through photographs, videos, etc.

In accordance with the provisions of Organic Law 15/1999, of 13 December, on the Protection of Personal Data, all personal data provided by participants and images obtained in the development of the race will be stored in files of the entity Talentum Group, as organizer and Sportmaniacs, as central registration, in order to manage participation in the race, as well as the promotion, distribution and dissemination of the same. You may at any time exercise your rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition by sending a letter accompanied by your ID card to the registered office at C/ Muñoz Degraín N3 pta 7, Valencia. For notification purposes, all registered runners authorise as a means of legal notification by email or mobile phone, and any other mobile or web application (such as WhatsApp, Line, Telegram, etc).
